Heritage & Journey
Our Story: Keeping the Irish Hearth Burning
The Irish Van began as a mobile celebration of authentic Irish cooking—serving sizzling pork sausages, thick-cut rashers, and proper curry chips out of our kitchen truck across Australian festivals and club grounds.
When COVID-19 struck and public events shut down overnight, we knew our community couldn't afford to lose their connection to home. We pivoted rapidly, partnering with The Irish Butchers to freight authentic fresh meats, Clonakilty puddings, and beloved dry goods directly to Irish pubs and clubs throughout Queensland, Victoria, and South Australia. What started as an emergency relief route grew into a cherished weekly ritual for thousands of Irish families.
Looking Forward
What's Next: The Van Returns & A Café in the Works
We are thrilled to bring the original Irish Van back onto Australian streets, rolling into festivals, pubs, and private gatherings with our full hot food menu. Alongside the mobile kitchen, plans are well underway for our first permanent Irish café—a welcoming, brick-and-mortar space where you can sit down for a freshly brewed cuppa, a hearty morning fry, and a chat with friends before browsing our refrigerated grocery counter.
